Accounting Manager

About the role

BNP Associates, Inc., a global air transportation consulting and engineering firm founded in 1971, is looking for an Accounting Manager. The manager leads day-to-day accounting operations, runs the monthly close and oversees the accounting team across multiple entities and geographies, reporting to the Controller. The role is based in Denver, CO, with a hybrid arrangement and a 40-hour week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close, review journal entries and reconciliations, and partner with the Controller on consolidations and reporting packages
• Oversee general ledger, AR, AP, payroll and project accounting, and maintain and optimise accounting workflows in Deltek Vantagepoint
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, support audit preparation and coordinate with auditors and external advisors
• Ensure consistent application of WIP, revenue recognition (ASC 606) and project accounting, including POC schedules and retainage tracking
• Improve accounting processes, standardise practices across entities and support the integration of acquired entities
• Lead and develop accounting staff, including Project Accountants and Bookkeepers, and support hiring and onboarding

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing or leading parts of the close process
• Preferred: project-based or engineering consulting background, multi-entity or international experience, and experience in a high-growth or acquisition-driven environment

What we offer
