Program Specialist II – Workforce Development

About the role

The Program Specialist II supports the Workforce Development team within Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, focusing on planning and executing conferences, events, and special programs for the College of Engineering. This full‑time position requires occasional evenings and weekends to ensure successful event delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and execute special events, programs, and conferences for the Engineering Experiment Station and the College of Engineering.
• Supervise and coordinate event personnel, vendors, and student support staff.
• Maintain and support the events management system for departmental and center‑wide activities.
• Provide post‑event analysis, budget summaries, and participation feedback.
• Lead major projects, develop new college‑wide event policies, and manage Departmental Event Liaison education and communication.

Required profile

• Experience in event planning, coordination, or program management, preferably in an academic or research environment.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the capacity to supervise student staff and interact with external vendors.
• Commitment to engaging with minors and youth during program activities.
