Program Specialist II – Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship

About the role

The Meloy Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (MEIEP) at Texas A&M Engineering seeks a Program Specialist II to lead the planning, development, and delivery of its diverse program portfolio. Reporting to the Director, the specialist will ensure high‑impact experiences for students, faculty, and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise two entry‑level staff members, handling job postings, candidate screening, and hiring.
• Oversee up to six undergraduate and graduate student workers supporting MEIEP activities.
• Coordinate flagship programs such as Aggies Invent, Invent for the Planet, Problems Worth Solving, Engineering Inc., NSF i‑Corps Site, Meloy Fellows, Meloy Innovators, Meloy Speaker Series, Boss Talk, and student pitch competitions.
• Manage logistics for conferences, seminars, workshops, and meetings, including catering, promotional materials, stakeholder communications, and real‑time event execution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with Zachry Facilities, IT, Scheduling, MarComm, and the EASA Business Office.
• Administer the Concept, Creation, and Commercialization Certificate and the Engineering Entrepreneurship Minor.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising staff and student workers.
• Strong background in program coordination and event logistics.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with faculty, mentors, judges, and external partners.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and meet tight deadlines.
