Program Manager – MORCA Georgetown Paralegal Program

About the role

The Georgetown University Prisons and Justice Initiative seeks a Program Manager to lead the MORCA‑Georgetown Paralegal Program, an educational certificate program for returning citizens. This role supports participants through a 20‑week in‑person curriculum, connects them with paid placements, and ensures smooth collaboration with partner agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations of the Paralegal Program, including scheduling, calendar management, and logistics.
• Develop, negotiate, and process memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with partner organizations such as the DC Department of Employment Services and the Mayor’s Office on Returning Citizen Affairs.
• Recruit law firms and community organizations to provide one‑year paid placements for program graduates.
• Oversee participant stipends, emergency assistance funding, and ensure timely payments.
• Plan and execute program‑related events, securing speakers and managing associated fees.
• Facilitate alumni mentorship and tutoring for new cohorts.
• Participate in program evaluation, data collection, and contribute to future planning with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in program coordination or management, preferably in education, legal services, or social‑justice contexts.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple partners.
• Commitment to the mission of empowering currently and formerly incarcerated individuals.
