Program Coordinator for Legal Clinic

About the role

The Program Coordinator supports the Bowen School of Law’s Legal Clinic, a law‑firm‑style service providing free legal assistance to low‑income Arkansans. This full‑time, 12‑month position handles day‑to‑day administrative tasks and helps execute the clinic’s strategic vision.

Key responsibilities

• Assist supervising attorneys with client matters, prepare correspondence, legal documents, and case files using Clio case‑management software.
• Screen new client intake for conflicts, process travel and reimbursement requests, and manage check requests for attorneys.
• Maintain client check‑in, answer phone calls, handle walk‑in inquiries, and provide public service with professionalism.
• Compile data and generate reports from Clio on client numbers, cases, and student participation.
• Reconcile the clinic’s litigation and IOLTA accounts, prepare monthly budget reports, and track expenditures.
• Notarize documents and support student applications for representation under the Arkansas student practice rule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and at least two years of experience in business office or program administration.
• Experience in a law‑office setting preferred, including familiarity with case‑management systems and Notary Public certification.
• Strong knowledge of state, federal, and university policies, with ability to maintain confidentiality of client information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Clio Legal Practice Management software.
• Competence in Google Mail (Gmail), Google Docs, and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
