Program Associate – Agricultural Research (12‑Month)

About the role

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is seeking a Program Associate to support the Vegetable Research Station for a 12‑month term. Reporting to the Resident Director, the associate will oversee all aspects of field plot research, ensuring smooth operation of planting, maintenance, and data collection activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute field plot research tasks, including equipment operation, soil preparation, planting, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting.
• Maintain detailed records of all research activities and ensure accurate data entry.
• Supervise classified and seasonal hourly employees, providing guidance and oversight.
• Oversee routine maintenance of research equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to plan and execute agricultural field experiments.
• Experience supervising hourly staff in a research or agricultural setting.
• Strong organizational skills for record‑keeping and equipment management.
