About the role
EMS is seeking a motivated Program Assistant Intern to support two affiliated community‑wellness organizations in Baltimore. The role provides hands‑on experience in nonprofit operations, client support, and program coordination. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing wellness programs, workshops, and community events.
- Maintain and update participant records, databases, and program documentation.
- Support communication efforts, including participant outreach, email correspondence, and social‑media posting.
- Prepare program‑related materials such as presentations, reports, and informational handouts.
- Provide logistical support for internal meetings (scheduling, agenda creation, note‑taking).
- Offer on‑site support for client interactions, including program intake and satisfaction surveys.
- Track and report program metrics, participation levels, and client outcomes.
- Assist with filing, record‑keeping, and compliance‑related administrative tasks.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Public Health, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and passionate about community wellness.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace.
- Experience with Canva or other design tools.
- Familiarity with social‑media platforms for outreach.
