Program Aid (Full‑Time Classroom Support)

About the role

This full‑time position supports classroom, kitchen, and janitorial activities within a Head Start/Early Head Start program. The aide works directly with infants and toddlers, including those with developmental or physical delays, and travels between classrooms as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff with daily schedules, lesson plans, diapering, meals, and nap times.
• Supervise mealtimes, encouraging nutrition and social interaction.
• Maintain a clean, orderly classroom environment and support teachers with materials and events.
• Perform janitorial tasks such as emptying trash, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring playground safety.
• Support kitchen operations: clean and sanitize areas, assist with food preparation, and follow hygiene standards.
• Follow individual plans for children with special needs according to IFSPs.
• Attend workshops, meetings, and training sessions as required.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with Head Start performance standards and licensing regulations.
