Production Technician - Blended Resin Systems

About the role

BASF is hiring a Production Technician for its Performance Materials team in Clemson, South Carolina. The operator works in the Operator III area, which manufactures blended resin systems for foam application. The role follows a 3-shift rotation: 1st shift 5am-1:30pm, 2nd shift 1pm-9:30pm, 3rd shift 9pm-5:30am.

Key responsibilities

• Use product recipes to produce blended resin systems in multiple blend vessels, including the PSM process
• Know raw materials, their hazards and locations, and the process equipment
• Use the process control system interface screens to add chemicals to match recipes, follow batch instructions and take samples
• Load drums, totes, cylinders and tank trucks with finished product
• Unload raw materials from rail cars, tank trucks and box vans into bulk storage and tote them for production
• Follow standard operating procedures for unloading and checking in raw materials
• Contribute to site safety and housekeeping, and master standard operating procedures
• Learn DOT, OSHA and hazard communication requirements for chemical transport, storage and handling, and become a certified forklift driver

Required profile

• High school diploma (a 2-year technical degree is preferred)
• Good communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Must be clean-shaven, as selected candidates receive HAZMAT training and may need to wear a respirator
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
