Production Supervisor

About the role

Amerex, a global leader in fire suppression products owned by McWane, Inc., is hiring a full-time Production Supervisor in Trussville. The supervisor oversees production employees, keeps the production process running smoothly and meets company goals and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor and appraise results, and coach, counsel and discipline employees
• Manage daily activities to keep production efficient and minimize overtime, and conduct annual performance reviews and regular feedback
• Schedule and assign personnel, set priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules and report shift production summaries
• Maintain quality standards through company policies, procedures and work instructions
• Monitor the process, set processing variables, observe control points and equipment, study methods, implement cost reductions and develop reporting systems
• Call for equipment repairs, evaluate new equipment and techniques, and compile and analyze production data
• Educate personnel on safety and clean work conditions, resolve personnel issues and recommend actions

Required profile

• 3 years of direct supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing team
• Proven facilitation and leadership skills, ability to multi-task and motivate, and ability to work under pressure
• Effective communication with all levels of the organization and good attendance record with no warnings in the past 12 months
• Ability to work long hours in emergencies, overtime or alternate shifts, and to communicate on radio and hear over equipment noise
