Production Planner

About the role

The Production Planner will develop and execute production schedules that maximize manufacturing capacity, ensure material availability, and support on‑time delivery of customer orders. This position works closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to drive efficient production while upholding quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a rolling 90‑day Master Production Schedule.
• Balance customer demand, capacity, labor, and material availability.
• Sequence production to maximize efficiency and on‑time delivery.
• Create and maintain production routings and manage production orders through all lifecycle stages.
• Participate in daily production meetings to review schedule performance and recovery plans.
• Review MRP recommendations, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with Procurement on requisitions and deliveries.
• Identify inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate engineering change notices and communicate drawing revisions to production personnel.
• Support the SIOP process by providing capacity, inventory, and scheduling inputs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of production planning experience in fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Required skills

• ERP/MRP systems experience.
• Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
• APICS/ASCM CPIM certification (preferred).
