SCADA Technical Lead – Hybrid (Houston or Calgary)

About the role
AVEVA is seeking a SCADA Technical Lead to provide technical leadership on large‑scale, high‑complexity industrial automation projects. The role is hybrid, requiring the candidate to work on‑site up to 50 % of the time in Houston, TX (or Calgary, Canada) and to manage projects from initiation through closeout.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the technical aspects of multi‑year customer projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and meeting specifications.
- Develop and finalize statements of work, project schedules, risk and communication plans in collaboration with project management.
- Guide system design, oversee software and hardware development, and act as the primary technical contact for the customer.
- Monitor project performance, manage issues, contracts, and risk, and report status to stakeholders.
- Lead project closeout activities, including financial reconciliation, equipment verification, installation, start‑up, training, and profitability validation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing industrial automation, SCADA, or MES solutions.
- Proven ability to develop, install, and commission custom hardware‑software systems and to handle high‑pressure customer sites.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (20‑50 % travel).
Required skills
- Experience with Enterprise SCADA, OASyS DNA, Vijeo/Citect SCADA, Ampla MES, ClearSCADA, WonderWare SCADA, or WonderWare Historian.
- Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, C#, Microsoft Reporting Services.
