Product Medical Physicist

About the role

The Product Medical Physicist at Leo Cancer Care leads quality‑assurance efforts for new radiation‑therapy products, guiding them from design through manufacturing, installation, and clinical use. The role combines technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and customer interaction, including travel to support site installations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead QA methods, tools, and processes for new products, ensuring smooth transition to manufacturing and service.
• Create and maintain procedures for customer acceptance testing, commissioning, and routine/patient‑specific QA for imaging and therapeutic systems.
• Act as the company Radiation Safety Officer, designing and overseeing the radiation safety program and training.
• Provide on‑site training and support during installation and clinical go‑live, and offer remote escalation assistance.
• Monitor risks, report issues, and propose efficiency and compliance improvements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in medical physics, nuclear engineering or related field.
• Experience as a medical physicist in clinical service or industry, preferably with medical‑device regulation (ISO 13485, FDA, MDR).
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience developing procedures and training materials.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• Medical physics expertise, including treatment planning and delivery.
• CT and linear accelerator (linac) quality‑assurance and commissioning.
• Regulatory knowledge: ISO 13485, FDA, MDR, AAPM Task Groups.
• Radiation safety program design and implementation.
• Analytical problem‑solving and detailed documentation skills.
