Product Engineering Manager - Commercial Pharma US Targeting, Recommendation, Optimization and Measurement

About the role

Roche Digital Technology (RDT) is hiring a Product Engineering Manager for its Commercial Pharma US team covering targeting, recommendation, optimization and measurement. The actual title is Team Lead Engineering Commercial Pharma US. The role leads a team that builds scalable digital solutions for Genentech's commercial functions, partnering with business product owners on measurement (segmenting HCPs, dynamic lists, geospatial analysis), recommendation (Next Best Action), optimization (measurable ROI, what-if simulations) and measurement (attribution modeling, operational health).

Key responsibilities

• Define the architectural roadmap and select digital technologies for enterprise-level customer engagement.
• Ensure engineering output meets ROI and adoption targets.
• Partner with Business Product Owners to turn roadmaps into technical plans for segmentation, what-if simulations and attribution modeling.
• Mentor team members on their career paths and build a balanced talent portfolio.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery performance, resolve cross-functional roadblocks and drive process re-engineering.
• Manage the team budget (headcount, vendors, operations) and allocate resources across the portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Business (Master's preferred).
• 5+ years in people leadership or program management; 2+ years in Pharma/Biotech or regulated healthcare.
• Proven track record deploying BI solutions (predictive/prescriptive), modern visualization tools and ML/AI toolsets.
• Servant leader with an enterprise mindset, strong business acumen and lean/agile mindset.

What we offer

• Expected salary range of $149,700 - $278,100 for the South San Francisco location, depending on experience and qualifications.
• A discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
