Principal Product Leader, Therapeutics Discovery

About the role

Reporting to the Domain Head for Therapeutics Discovery, this Principal Product Leader defines and executes the strategy for a product family critical to molecule design, making, testing, learning and data lifecycle in drug discovery. The role sits in the Data and Digital Catalysts (DDC) department of the Computational Sciences Center of Excellence, which bridges informatics and scientists to accelerate decision making in Genentech's drug discovery.

Key responsibilities

• Define the strategy and product vision for a product family so that high-impact scientific outcomes are enabled.
• Articulate the strategic product roadmap, nurture stakeholder relationships and drive delivery.
• Advocate for future-facing solutions, anticipate emerging capabilities and influence the Roche/Genentech informatics ecosystem.
• Integrate these factors into roadmaps, budget projections and collaborations with implementation teams.
• Contribute to consolidating and deprecating legacy systems and reducing technical debt.
• Build strong internal and external partnerships with collaborators in DDC, CS CoE and beyond.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree plus at least 7 years, or an advanced degree plus at least 2 years, of proven experience leading delivery of impactful internal solutions.
• Experience in a biotechnology setting and understanding of scientific drug discovery processes.
• Hands-on domain expertise in the design-make-test-learn aspects of biotechnology and how scientific data is collected, managed, analyzed and used in discovery.
• Proven ability to lead by example, mentor and coach others, and to influence without direct authority.

What we offer

• Expected salary range of $148,600-$276,000 for the California location, depending on experience and qualifications.
• A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
