Product Definer (IO Aggregator)

About the role

NXP is hiring a Product Definer for its Secure Connected Edge business, which builds products that combine security, connectivity and cognition. The role defines the roadmap for IO aggregator, IO hub and bridging solutions and works with customers, partners and OEMs. Locations available: San Diego, San Jose, California or Austin, Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new markets and emerging application trends to define the IO aggregator, IO hub and bridging solution roadmap.
• Translate customer requirements into product specifications with a clear value proposition and competitive advantages.
• Engage actively with customers to understand their system and product needs, and conduct competitive technical analysis and benchmarking.
• Work with Design & Test Engineers, Applications Engineers and Marketing to develop and launch new products on time.
• Prepare technical documentation (product specifications, datasheets, white papers, presentations, application notes) and product demos.
• Oversee application reference circuits and demonstration boards, and guide complex customer design-ins.
• Support key customers and field application engineers, and help Product Marketing and customer account teams with technical expertise and campaigns.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in product definition, feature trade-off analysis, competition benchmarking, early customer engagements and architecture specification.
• BSEE in Electronics/Electrical Engineering; MSEE desirable.
• Active participation in standardization efforts and strategic collaboration with partners and OEMs.
• Good understanding of mobile, automotive and embedded/IoT system architectures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of I3C, I2C, SPMI, SPI, JTAG, SWD and SDIO protocols.
• Knowledge of one or more high-speed interfaces: PCIe, MIPI, USB 3.2 and DisplayPort.
• Desirable: prior experience with lab validation, test automation and equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, waveform generators and Saleae analyzers.
• Desirable: PCB design and simulation, PCB materials and stack-up, and model development (IBIS, IBIS-AMI, System-C).
