Hardware Security Architect

About the role

NXP is looking for a Hardware Security Architect in Austin (Oakhill). The role covers the specification, design and review of security architectures for embedded systems, from attack modelling to certification support.

Key responsibilities

• Specify innovative and disruptive security solutions and manage security requirements, linking them to functional requirements
• Design and review security architectures, model attacks and define security mechanisms in hardware, firmware and protocols
• Advise and train teams on designing, implementing and testing hardware and software security mechanisms
• Review RTL and firmware code in detail
• Plan, coordinate and run pre-silicon vulnerability analysis
• Act as technical interface to customers and to business and product development teams
• Support certification and act as technical interface with evaluators and certifiers
• Analyse root causes of security defects and vulnerabilities

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Cryptography, Security, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• At least 10 years of industry experience designing and developing embedded secure systems
• Strong knowledge of SoC and/or Secure Element products; security background, ideally in embedded security
• Able to work independently and with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel internationally

Required skills

• Familiarity with modern CAD tools such as Cadence
• Knowledge of hardware description languages (System Verilog, VHDL)
