Process Improvement Specialist

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks a Process Improvement Specialist to support operational improvement initiatives across the institution. The role involves analyzing business processes, identifying efficiency and service quality opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support process improvement initiatives across Finance, HR, Student Services, Admissions, Registration, and IT operations.
• Facilitate process discovery sessions, develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Apply continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, root cause analysis, and evaluate automation or AI‑enabled tools.
• Assist with implementation planning, stakeholder communication, and track project outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in process improvement, business analysis, or related areas.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Lean, process mapping, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Experience with process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with responsible AI use concepts and automation tools.
