Process Engineer – Starshield

About the role

SpaceX’s Starshield program leverages Starlink technology for government‑focused satellite missions. As a Process Engineer you will ensure the reliability and performance of Starshield hardware by investigating failures, driving corrective actions, and improving manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and failure investigations for non‑conforming hardware.
• Contain suspect product, coordinate quarantine and rework activities, and provide regular updates to production teams.
• Drive data‑driven corrective actions using yield and defect monitoring to eliminate common failure modes.
• Collaborate with Integration & Test engineers to close feedback loops and enhance test coverage.
• Apply lean process checks to maximize ROI of test and inspection processes.
• Identify design and manufacturing improvements during new product development cycles.
• Maintain thorough documentation of analysis findings, test results, and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement on the shop floor through PFMEA reviews and optimization of critical processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in process, manufacturing, or reliability engineering (internships and co‑ops acceptable).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements.
