Process Control Tech (PLC Technician)

About the role

McWane Ductile Ohio is hiring a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week), on-site Process Control Tech (PLC Technician) in Coshocton. The role supports plant electricians by troubleshooting equipment with PLC programs, installing controllers and keeping the control systems running.

Key responsibilities

• Install programmable logic controllers on new and existing equipment and back up program copies and parameter sets.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley control systems (Studio 5000, RS Logix 500/5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE).
• Create and read logic and flow diagrams, and interpret project documentation to define process control requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance on machine control modifications and retrofits, including robotic, hydraulic, pneumatic and vision systems.
• Improve uptime, throughput, efficiency and quality through continuous improvement of electrical control systems, PLC, HMI and robotics programming.
• Help develop preventive maintenance strategies, take part in design reviews for new machinery and train maintenance staff.
• Provide scheduled plant coverage rotation, including remote troubleshooting and off-shift, weekend and extended shifts.
• Resolve customer questions, help procure parts and maintain records.

Required profile

• Experience in PLC logic and programming with Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs.
• AA in Electrical Engineering Technology or Mechatronics Technology preferred, plus 2 years of related industrial manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, MS Office, word processing, email, databases and spreadsheets.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, electrical grids and blueprints, and to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems.
