PRN Registered Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a PRN (as-needed) Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shifts at its Redmond facility in Georgia. The role covers respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies, airway management and ventilator support, working closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Document and charge for procedures accurately and completely, and assist with patient flow through collaboration and teamwork.
• Perform respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and recommend the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Analyze arterial blood gas and co-oximetry results, report findings and perform quality control as needed.
• Maintain the airway using manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airways and suctioning.
• Initiate, maintain, transport and monitor mechanical ventilators, including basic conventional modes.
• Respond immediately to Code Blue emergencies with CPR per the American Heart Association and other duties as directed.
• Use patient assessment, protocols and chart review to evaluate therapy effectiveness and make cost- and time-efficient recommendations.
• Follow standard precautions and hospital safety policies, and interpret test results to help shape treatment plans.

Required profile

• Associate degree required in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• 1+ years of critical care experience preferred.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required; NBRC RRT credential preferred and required for new hires in all states (Florida has a limited transition period for legacy incumbents).
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Patient care skills for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.

Pay range: $25.17 - $46.81. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
