PRN Registered Nurse - Home Health

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, offers home health, hospice and community-based services. As a PRN Registered Nurse, you will coordinate and oversee patients' home care while working with care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. You will assess patients, provide skilled nursing care, educate families, keep accurate records and share progress with the clinical manager, physician and care team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care
• Collaborate with care teams to develop and implement care plans
• Educate families on patient condition, needs and care
• Perform head-to-toe physical assessments and check vital signs
• Manage medications, give injections, IV therapy or tube feedings, and administer and maintain catheters
• Complete documentation timely and accurately
• Supervise LPNs and HHAs
• Communicate patient progress regularly to the clinical manager, physician and care team
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• At least one year of clinical experience as a registered nurse; candidates with less than 1 year must be approved by the VP of Clinical, and those with less than 6 months must join the RN Intern program
• Current RN license for the state(s) of assignment
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance

What we offer

• Pay of $39.18-$58.76 per visit point and $32.65-$48.97 per hour, with a total cash target of $67,905-$101,857 for full-time work
