PRN Radiologic Technologist

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a PRN (as-needed) Radiologic Technologist in Lenexa, Kansas. The role covers performing radiographic imaging procedures, maintaining equipment and patient care, with a pay range of $24.24-$45.09.

Key responsibilities

• Moves, positions and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely
• Performs imaging with correct patient demographics and exam information, ensuring high-quality images
• Assists patients during procedures, keeping them comfortable, safe and private
• Maintains exam rooms, cleans and stocks equipment, and notifies staff when inventory is low
• Follows radiation safety principles (time, distance, shielding) to keep exposure ALARA
• Maintains accurate documentation in the EMR and PACS systems
• Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed and performs other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• One year of post-certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers
• Previous radiologic technologist experience preferred
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) license and BLS/CPR certification required
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English

Required skills

• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging, including surgery and trauma
• Independent performance of radiographic procedures and determination of technical factors
• Use of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and radiology software such as EPIC and PACS
• Adult, pediatric, infant and geriatric patient care
• Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, and data entry and retrieval
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
