PRN Occupational Therapist - Acute

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a PRN (per diem) Occupational Therapist for its acute care setting in Redmond, Georgia. The role covers evaluation, treatment planning, patient education, supervision of OT assistants and accurate billing, with flexible hours adjusted to patient census.

Key responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Design and implement a treatment plan of care based on best practice, insurance guidelines and patient needs, and monitor progress and adjust plans.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and expected outcomes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document accurately, completely and timely using measurable, objective terminology and follow standards of practice, insurance guidelines and hospital policy.
• Provide discharge planning assistance and information on adaptive equipment and follow-up services.
• Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides.
• Maintain clinical competencies, use evidence-based practice, serve as a clinical instructor and support quality standards and performance improvement.
• Charge patients accurately and timely according to CPT code guidelines and insurance rules, and maintain productivity standards.
• Adjust working hours to meet patient needs and to help other centers or programs; other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapist - Temporary; license/certification requirements depend on the certifying body.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
