PRN OB Hospitalist Physician

About the role

AdventHealth Medical Group, Rocky Mountain Region is seeking a PRN OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician in Louisville, CO. AdventHealth Avista averages 180-200 deliveries per month, mostly performed by its own physicians and midwives, and the hospitalist acts as the primary backup for the delivering providers. The position is paid at $158.58 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary backup for the delivering providers; providers may sign out patients to the hospitalist.
• Assist with C-sections as needed and act as primary provider for unassigned patients coming to the labor and delivery unit and the emergency department.
• Care for precipitous deliveries when the delivering provider is not on campus.
• Respond to all OB emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia and emergent (level I) C-sections.
• See all patients presenting to triage unless the primary provider sees them, communicate with primary providers about concerns, monitor tracings on the unit, attend strip rounds, and take part in drills and other educational activities.

Required profile

• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• 3+ years of experience; no new graduates.
• Current, unrestricted full license to practice medicine in Colorado and current Colorado DEA licensure.
• On deck or in house while on shift, able to manage some gynecologic emergencies.
