Certified Surgical Technologist (Full Time)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist in its day shift at the A Vista location in Louisville, Colorado. The role anticipates the surgeon's needs, prepares the operating room and supports a safe, efficient surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and keep the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure
• Assemble supplies, equipment and medications before the procedure
• Monitor aseptic technique and act immediately on any break in it
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly and perform hand washing per policy
• Report environmental concerns and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
• Support safe and efficient operating room turnover and direct ancillary personnel
• Supervise team members, assist with orientation and training of new personnel, and respond to complaints promptly
• Take action in emergencies to protect patients, visitors and employees
• Participate in performance improvement activities and support departmental quality standards

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree or technical/vocational school preferred
• Currently enrolled in or has completed an accredited surgical technology program
• 2+ years of technical experience preferred; 1+ year of relevant experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and work well with multiple team members

Required skills

• Aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation
• Knowledge of common healthcare concepts, procedures and regulatory requirements
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Clear communication, attention to detail, multitasking and keyboarding skills
