PRN Nurse Practitioner

About the role

Armor Health is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care services within the Lackawanna County Prison in Scranton, PA. Working under indirect supervision, you will deliver comprehensive, non-emergency medical care to the incarcerated population.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical examinations, diagnoses, treatment plans, follow-up consultations and health education for non-emergency patients.
• Obtain detailed patient histories and develop treatment plans using the Problem Oriented Medical Record (POMR) format.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of patient care and support staff as needed.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions and prescribe appropriate medications and therapies.
• Participate in program planning and the development of health policies and procedures specific to the correctional setting.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Ability to pass Level 2 pre-employment clearance, including background check and drug screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
