PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist

About the role

Aoncology is hiring a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients so that diseases can be detected, using radiation-producing and detection equipment under physician direction. The goal is to obtain viable images for physician interpretation. The role covers imaging, radiation safety, patient care and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, calculate, administer, measure and record radiopharmaceutical dosages according to physician prescriptions, and perform diagnostic imaging procedures that yield accurate images.
• Handle, store, calibrate and dispose of radioactive materials safely, and maintain imaging and laboratory equipment.
• Comply with federal, state and organizational safety regulations and quality standards.
• Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients, assist during examinations, protect patient rights and keep patient information confidential in line with HIPAA.
• Maintain active state licensure in Nuclear Medicine and General Radiography, meet continuing education requirements and follow policies on patient care, billing, IT and disaster recovery.
• Keep the workplace safe and organized, help train new employees and support clinic operations across locations and overtime as needed.

Required profile

• High school education required.
• At least one year of active experience as a PET/CT Technologist; recent graduates of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program who can sit for their registry are considered, provided they pass the Nuclear Medicine or PET registry exam within 6 months of hire.
• State CRT and Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) license; ARRT certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
