PRN Certified Nurse Midwife - OBGYN & Midwifery

About the role

Avista, part of Adventist Health System, is hiring a PRN Certified Nurse Midwife for its OBGYN and Midwifery service in Louisville, Colorado. The position is paid at an hourly rate of $78.44 and involves provider-level care in the clinic and labor and delivery settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient health status through physical exams, patient history, diagnostic tests and procedures, and review of labs and other critical data.
• Assess, diagnose and treat patients, and perform routine physicals.
• Determine patient and family needs during the initial assessment and provide services in line with hospital and clinic policies.
• Consult with the supervising physician when needed on the treatment plan.
• Recognize life-threatening situations and respond immediately according to protocol.
• Provide patient care in the clinic and in labor and delivery.

Required profile

• Certified Nurse Midwife with a completed undergraduate and master's degree in nursing from an accredited program and passed state boards.
• At least 3 years of clinically relevant Certified Nurse Midwife experience.
• Current, valid State of Colorado license.
• National Nurse Practitioner certification by ANCC or AANP, or certification within five years of completing the master's degree.
• Applicable NCC certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
