PRN APRN Hospitalist

About the role

Aoncology is hiring a PRN APRN Hospitalist for its Florida Oncology and Hematology practice. The position assists physicians in the care and teaching of patients, with a pay range of $92,500 to $152,875. The role is scheduled Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with 0% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Inpatient support: conduct hospital rounds, assist with admissions and discharges, and provide on-call support.
• Assessment: perform and obtain comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories, order, collect and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and refer patients as clinically indicated.
• Counsel patients on medical and psychological conditions, treatment plans and behaviour modification, maintain accurate treatment records, initiate timely consultations and referrals beyond the scope of practice, and capture charges promptly.
• Communicate effectively with admitting and referring teams, triage communications and carry out other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program with a Master's degree.
• APRN or PA license in the appropriate state, prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply, and current board certification.
• At least 5 years of experience as an APRN or PA, with oncology experience required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment, and work remotely when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Good command of English; second language is an asset but not required.
