Private Wealth Management Investment Consultant

About the role
The Investment Consultant – Wealth Planning Specialist is a senior‑level professional who supports the Financial Advisor/Private Wealth Advisor team by creating, maintaining, and overseeing comprehensive financial plans for high‑net‑worth clients. The role also focuses on the strategic sale and integration of annuities and insurance solutions to enhance those plans.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and update financial plans covering income replacement, retirement, estate, business, and wealth transfer needs, with at least an annual review.
- Act as the liaison for the FA team in sourcing and purchasing annuities and insurance products.
- Promote and implement Goals‑Based Wealth Management tools and practices.
- Lead client meetings to discuss annuity and insurance investment strategies and options.
- Monitor client holdings for suitability, recommending upgrades or reallocations as appropriate.
- Assist clients in integrating insurance and annuity solutions into their financial plans through case design and asset‑liability matching.
- Maintain relationships with retirement, trust, and planning specialists as well as external partners to facilitate product implementation.
- Identify and connect clients to additional banking and service opportunities based on plan insights.
- Participate in client prospecting and drive meeting engagement.
Required profile
- College degree or professional certification (e.g., CFP).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in wealth planning, insurance, or trust services.
- Active Series 7, 63, and 65 or Series 7 and 66 licenses, or successful completion within company policy timelines.
- Minimum of 5 years FINRA registration preferred.
- Insurance licensing and wealth transfer/trust experience.
Required skills
- Extensive knowledge of financial planning, annuities, and insurance products.
- Familiarity with Morgan Stanley’s insurance, annuities, and financial planning suite (a plus).
- Strong understanding of financial industry regulations, compliance rules, and firm policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
