Private Capital Engagement Manager / Associate / Senior Consultant

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Private Equity team in North America is hiring consultants to support its rapid growth, working with private equity investors from opportunity identification through due diligence and post-transaction value realization. The team covers Industrials and Business Services and is open to candidates based in Boston, Washington DC, New York, Chicago, San Francisco or Toronto. The three levels are Senior Consultant, Associate and Engagement Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Senior Consultant: runs work streams from start to finish, structures and solves problems, develops research and analysis plans, directs junior consultants and becomes the go-to person for the client on specific topics.
• Associate: breaks complex problems into discrete tasks, plans and executes analysis, identifies core issues and crafts recommendations, working alongside clients and managing small teams.
• Engagement Manager: leads and executes due diligence and/or post-transaction engagements for private equity funds and their portfolio companies, ensuring findings are insightful and data-driven, with strong communication and relationship-building.

Required profile

• Experience with commercial due diligence in a management consulting firm, or work in industrials within private equity.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a strong academic program.
• Fluent in English; strong written and verbal communication in formal and informal settings.
• Initiative, creativity, analytical aptitude and willingness to work respectfully with a team.

Required skills

• Base salary range of $135,000 to $240,000, depending on experience, skills, location and education, plus possible performance-based incentives.
