Principal/Senior Principal, P&C Actuarial (Business Development Focus)

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Property & Casualty Actuarial Consulting Practice is looking for an experienced consultant to join as a Principal/Senior Principal. The role helps develop the business development plan with the regional leader for a targeted expansion and supports the Region Leader and Central Zone Principals in executing the growth strategy. It involves significant engagement with clients such as large self-insured corporations, captive insurers, reinsurers, investment firms, state regulators and healthcare providers. The office is flexible, though Chicago is strongly preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Own the business development plan and revenue target for the P&C region, focusing on large accounts
• Supervise business development collaboration with senior managers and Principals, and maintain knowledge of BD-related engagements (pipeline, marketing content, expertise)
• Create and deliver monthly business development activity updates for regional business leaders
• Identify and encourage the development of subject matter experts
• Review and validate client deliverables for technical accuracy and integrity
• Mentor junior staff and foster their career growth
• Prepare and deliver high-quality exhibits and written reports to clients
• Strengthen client relationships, guide proposal and presentation preparation, and manage actuarial projects such as loss reserving, pricing/ratemaking, predictive modeling, economic capital modeling and loyalty rewards programs

Required profile

• ACAS/FCAS credentials or similar, with 10+ years of consulting experience focused on P&C clients (self-insureds, captives, reinsurers)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage client relationships
• Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements and business development

What we offer

• Base salary range of $188,000 to $400,000, depending on experience, skills, certifications and location
