Principal UI Designer, Sportsbook

About the role

FanDuel is hiring a Principal UI Designer for its Sportsbook, based in Atlanta. The role defines and elevates the visual language of the Sportsbook experience, working across multiple product teams with Product Design, Engineering and Brand. It is an individual contributor leadership role: impact is measured by the quality of experiences influenced by your vision, guidance and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define the visual quality bar for Sportsbook across iOS, Android and Web, and set how design principles apply to typography, color, hierarchy, layout, interaction, motion and system feedback.
• Partner with Product Design leaders to shape interaction, motion and visual principles that scale across customer touchpoints.
• Build partnerships with Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, Brand and Formation, bringing visual craft expertise into shared product decisions.
• Drive the evolution of the design language while maintaining consistency and championing accessibility, inclusive design and usability.
• Explore emerging interaction models, AI capabilities and platform technologies, and lead rapid concept exploration.
• Establish AI-assisted design workflows and build reusable libraries, templates, prompts and tooling.
• Coach designers through critique, pairing and workshops, and influence engineering implementation to reflect design intent.
• Represent Product Design in executive discussions on visual quality and product strategy.

Required profile

• Exceptional visual design portfolio showing world-class digital product craft.
• Experience defining scalable visual systems, reusable interaction patterns and design frameworks for large product ecosystems.
• Demonstrated influence across multiple teams and senior stakeholders without formal management responsibility.
• Experience partnering closely with engineering to achieve high-quality implementation.
• Proven ability to coach designers and raise craft standards through mentorship and critique.

Required skills

• Typography, layout, hierarchy, color, interaction design, motion design and visual storytelling.
• Modern platform conventions and UI patterns across iOS, Android and Web.
• Understanding of AI-assisted design workflows.
