Principal – Strategic Communications Lead

About the role

Precision is seeking a Principal to join its Strategic Communications team in New York or Washington, DC, delivering cutting‑edge communications strategy for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multiple client initiatives from conception through execution, managing small work streams across accounts.
• Create high‑quality communication materials such as strategy memos, presentations, press releases, talking points, op‑eds, and speeches.
• Integrate media industry foresight into client communications roadmaps and champion media workstreams and campaigns.
• Collaborate across communications, data, creative, and paid‑advertising departments, building relationships within Precision.
• Guide junior staff and interns, reviewing and editing their work and providing feedback.
• Own assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure work aligns with strategy and long‑term goals.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in communications (in‑house, agency, political campaign, government or consultancy).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interest in media, corporate, advocacy and political campaigns, with experience in press relations, message development and strategic planning.
• Creativity, energy, detail‑orientation and an entrepreneurial spirit.
