Area Director of Marketing

About the role

The Area Director of Marketing will lead strategic development, positioning, and execution of comprehensive marketing programs for HHM Hotels’ high‑profile DMV portfolio. Based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the role partners closely with senior leadership, general managers and sales teams to drive market share, revenue and brand visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own annual marketing strategies, business plans and budgets aligned with HHM revenue goals.
• Lead cluster marketing across Independent Collection and branded assets, driving cross‑property synergies.
• Oversee hotel repositioning, rebranding initiatives and high‑impact promotional campaigns.
• Monitor, analyze and present campaign performance metrics, ROI and web traffic analytics to stakeholders.
• Direct regional event strategy, high‑profile activations, property launches and community partnerships.
• Drive PR strategy, manage agency relationships and secure media coverage and award nominations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or Hospitality/Travel (preferred).
• 5–7 years progressive marketing experience in hospitality or travel.
• Proven experience managing agency relationships, large budgets and multi‑property portfolios.
• Strong presentation, negotiation and executive communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics and digital marketing performance platforms.
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills for owner reporting.
• Working knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with content management systems and metadata/reporting tools.
