Principal / Senior Principal Digital Validation Engineer

About the role

NXP is hiring a Principal or Senior Principal Digital Validation Engineer in Austin (Oakhill) to join an SoC validation team. The role covers functional validation of memories and high-speed interfaces across SoC products, using pre-silicon emulation models and post-silicon validation boards, including stress testing and PVT corner testing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare setups, run tests, collect data and summarize results
• Debug issues, improve test coverage and document observations under team guidance
• Work with design, systems and software teams to define expected behavior and drive debug
• Maintain validation plans, reports and technical records
• Develop test plans from design specifications, write test content, run tests and debug failures
• Collaborate with validation partners and customers such as designers, verification, software and product engineering teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• 10-15 years of validation or SoC-related experience for Principal; 15+ years for Senior Principal
• Experience with memories and high-speed interfaces
• Ability to lead a team technically and work with cross-functional teams
• Good written and spoken English

Required skills

• Strong C programming
• Hands-on lab work with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers and related software
• Engineering fundamentals, problem solving, testing and technical documentation
