About the role

APEX TK is seeking a highly skilled Principal GNC & Trajectory Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets Program Office. You will lead the development and analysis of missile defense target vehicles and provide technical guidance for flight test events.

Key responsibilities

Develop and analyze 6‑DoF and 3‑DoF trajectory data for target vehicles using tools such as TAOS, MATLAB, Python and C++.
Support the Targets System Engineering team with requirements development, modeling & simulation, test analysis, and reporting.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to create engineering tools and perform flight test analysis, including onboard instrumentation data reconstruction.

Required profile

Master's degree in a STEM field (or Bachelor’s with 7+ years relevant experience).
12+ years of experience on missile‑defense or DoD programs and an active DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Strong understanding of aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, guidance, navigation and control, and satellite orbital mechanics.

Required skills

Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, C++.
Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as TAOS and STK.
Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
