Principal Engineer - Advanced Package Technology Development

Micron is hiring a Principal Engineer in its Advanced Package Technology Development team at its Boise campus. The role sits within a group focused on innovation and collaboration, influencing solutions that support company goals and contribute to revenue and strategic success. The engineer develops leading technology in the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-value, differentiated technology solutions by driving technical innovation and collaborating with internal and external partners.
• Consult and influence technical and strategic decisions at senior management level.
• Lead multi-disciplinary technical teams and task forces, and guide the development of packaging technology roadmaps.
• Analyze competitive trends and assess competitive metrics through data intelligence.
• Troubleshoot advanced issues, mentor colleagues, and define requirements with proven technical data.
• Innovate through patents, trade secrets, technical presentations and papers, and promote cost reduction and quality improvement.

Required profile

• Over 5 years of professional experience in semiconductor advanced packaging.
• BS, MS or PhD in Material Science, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on process module engineering experience in Wafer Level Packaging or 3D stacking (required).
• Experience in DRAM manufacturing and OSAT companies (required).
• Deep knowledge of High Bandwidth Memory, 2.5D integration and emerging 3D integration strategies including Hybrid bonding (required).
• Understanding of DRAM wafer structure and process flows (highly preferred).
• A passion for innovation shown by patent inventions or published literature.
