Principal Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

MANTECH, a technology firm founded in 1968 that works with government intelligence agencies, is hiring a Principal Cyber Security Analyst in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The role acts as the technical expert for the organization, supporting cybersecurity operations by leading incident response, protecting the integrity of enterprise data and giving high-level technical guidance to maintain mission-critical security postures. It is a full-time, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical expert and interact with senior external personnel on major technical matters, often coordinating between organizations
• Manage security incidents from start to finish, including coordinating documentation, work effort and resource use, and write and publish incident reports with findings and remediation recommendations
• Coordinate enterprise incident response and command and control functions
• Detect, identify and report possible cyber-attacks, intrusions, anomalous activity and misuse
• Analyze network traffic and system data, correlate security events and assess damage to data and infrastructure
• Develop and document incident response guidance, processes and procedures, and recommend and implement process and policy improvements when approved
• Lead and manage the work of others

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years of additional IT experience in lieu of a degree
• 7+ years of cyber experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Experience in a Cybersecurity Operations Center environment with COTS technologies, and managing complex incidents across a large team
• Physical ability to stay seated 50% of the time and communicate accurately with colleagues, management and customers

Required skills

• IAT Level II certification (GSEC, Security+, SSCP, CySA+ or CCNA-Security) at start
• CSSP-IR certification (GCIH, CSIH or CEH) within 30 days of hire
• Preferred: Windows and Linux, database security, operating system security and current security principles and protocols
