Software Engineer - Web Applications (Space Launch Support)

About the role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, customer-oriented Software Engineer for an onsite position in Cape Canaveral, Florida, supporting the United States Space Force's 5th Space Launch Squadron and its launch services. The work supports the NSSL program and covers systems engineering, mission integration, systems security and information assurance, digital engineering and software development. The engineer works on complex projects integrating multiple systems across all phases of the software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, extend or rewrite existing web applications and create new ones accessible from multiple groups, bases and domains
• Design and develop web or cloud-hosted applications, and investigate ways to improve software and enterprise processes
• Provide application, server and tool administration, and train users and leadership on applications
• Give regular status updates to customer technical leads and lead agile software development
• Work as a team member, including individual and virtual pair programming

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another STEM field; 1.5 years of software development experience may substitute for each year of education
• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, programmer or developer
• 3+ years of DoD or launch/range experience
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret clearance

• HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, asynchronous programming, RESTful frameworks, Agile, UX design, C# or Python
• Software development planning, source control and task automation tools
• Preferred: DevOps/DevSecOps, PostgreSQL/MongoDB.NET Core, VueJS/Vuetify, Flask, CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitLab/GitHub, AWS, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office
