Principal Compensation Consultant

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Principal Compensation Consultant to join its Career Consulting team in the Houston-Dallas area. You will lead delivery of large-scale projects, coach team members and solve complex compensation challenges, while also supporting business development. The role is hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office or with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Structure, direct, review and interpret analyses produced by project teams
• Develop compensation strategies, philosophies and programs that meet clients' attraction and retention needs
• Advise senior management on pay strategy, job architecture design and digital activation of compensation designs
• Manage day-to-day client interactions and build strong relationships
• Guide and oversee junior team members, ensuring quality deliverables
• Generate revenue by developing new client relationships, extending existing engagements and identifying cross-selling opportunities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in compensation consulting with demonstrated subject matter expertise
• Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and complex client engagements
• Experience advising senior executives and managing client relationships
• Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of compensation strategy, compensation technology, incentive plan design, market analysis and regulatory compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Nice to have: experience leading engagements for global organizations, business development, compensation management and survey tools, and AI-enabled compensation agents
