Principal Cloud Engineer

About the role

The Principal Cloud Engineer is a senior technical leader who will design, build, and evolve Invesco’s enterprise Azure cloud platform. The role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and cost‑effective cloud solutions while integrating generative AI to boost engineering productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve Azure landing zones, shared services, and reference architectures.
• Define engineering standards, reusable patterns, and governance policies for cloud adoption.
• Lead decisions on resiliency, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• Introduce emerging Azure, cloud‑native, and Generative AI technologies.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code, platform automation, and self‑service capabilities.
• Implement CI/CD, GitOps, and AI‑assisted workflows to reduce operational overhead.
• Establish policy‑as‑code controls and ensure compliance across environments.
• Partner with application, security, and infrastructure teams to improve reliability and lifecycle management.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading cloud platform initiatives on Azure.
• Strong background in automation, governance, and developer productivity.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams including security and infrastructure.
• Ability to evaluate and adopt emerging AI and cloud technologies.
