Pricing Manager

About the role

The Pricing Manager provides subject matter expertise, project management and analytical support for the development and execution of pricing strategies. The role works with merchants, the Pro team and subsidiaries to develop and test hypotheses, prioritizes IT development with the development team and collaborates with marketing, operations, strategy and other partners. It manages Senior Analysts to support corporate pricing initiatives and advocates for pricing best practices. The position reports to the Sr Manager Pricing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop relationships with cross-functional partners, run standard and ad hoc analysis to identify performance drivers, recommend pricing decisions and strategies, and build financial plans reflecting pricing changes.
• Analyze marketplace and macroeconomic trends, competitive assessment, customer segmentation, line structure and engineering, pricing zones, promotional effectiveness, transaction and basket penetration, and consumer psychology.
• Create executive-level presentations summarizing analysis, strategic rationale and expected financial impact, and report to all levels of management.
• Communicate with leadership to gain alignment, partner with IT and other teams to prioritize strategy execution, and supervise the work of subordinates, including performance appraisals and professional development.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; preferred: MBAP, prior retail pricing experience, and prior merchandising, planning and analysis experience.
• 4 years of experience preferred.
• Typical travel is less than 10% overnight; mostly sits in a comfortable indoor setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis and insight from large data sets.
• Strong communication skills, able to present to executive leadership.
• Project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with retail and cost accounting methods preferred.
