Press Operator

About the role

Components is seeking a reliable Press Operator to join its manufacturing team in Traverse City. The role involves operating high‑speed press equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Load and feed raw material, inspect parts, and start the press process.
• Disassemble and re‑assemble the press to clear jams, remove slugs, and verify proper operation.
• Document production paperwork, validate reel tags, and enter data into the ERP system.
• Ensure raw materials match Bill of Materials specifications and handle scrap disposition.
• Identify and report process problems, and perform packaging tasks as needed.
• Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules, including housekeeping and tool operation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1‑2 years of experience with computer operation in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations.
• Physical ability to lift at least 35 lb, move around the facility, and bend as required.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, including navigation of Windows‑based systems.
• Experience with ERP data entry.
• High‑speed press operation and tool disassembly.
