Preschool Teacher (Twos)

About the role

Aspire Early Learning Academy is hiring a Preschool or Twos Teacher for its West Columbia location. The school seeks a caring, dependable and enthusiastic teacher who loves working with children under five and supports their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development while preparing them for kindergarten.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using storytelling, educational play, music and media
• Observe and document children's development and support social skills, independence and self-esteem
• Encourage positive interactions, cooperation and respectful behaviour among children
• Follow the company's curriculum and lesson plans
• Support early academic, artistic and practical skills such as shapes, numbers, colours and crafts
• Maintain an organised classroom schedule and supervise children actively for their safety
• Keep the classroom clean and organised to health, safety and sanitation standards
• Collaborate with co-workers and administration and follow DSS, DHEC and academy policies
• Create a warm, nurturing and positive classroom environment

Required profile

• Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
• Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation and classroom supervision guidelines
• Strong communication, interpersonal and instructional skills
• Ability to guide children's behaviour and resolve conflicts appropriately
• Patient, friendly, dependable, professional and creative
• Willingness to complete ECD 101 within six months of employment (the company pays for it)
• Successful completion of Central Registry, SLED and FBI background checks
