About the role

Join the YMCA of Greater Boston as a Preschool Teacher in Roxbury, providing high‑quality early education to children in a family‑centered environment. You will deliver age‑appropriate curriculum and ensure a safe, nurturing setting for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize children’s safety and emotional well‑being.
• Plan and implement age‑appropriate curriculum that fosters development.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet individual needs.
• Conduct assessments and give feedback to parents and caregivers.
• Model YMCA character values and serve as a positive role model.
• Use constructive behavior‑management methods and ensure staff do the same.
• Supervise children, guide transitions, and maintain a safe environment.
• Collaborate with co‑teacher on classroom design and material preparation.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Mission‑driven and committed to YMCA’s goals.
• Strong interpersonal skills for positive relationships with families, staff, and community agencies.
• Passionate about working with children and creating educational experiences.
• At least 21 years old and meet Department of Early Education and Care requirements.
• Hold an EEC certification; obtain First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Sexual Harassment training within specified timeframes.
