About the role

The Preschool Teacher will provide care and education for children aged 12 months to five years, working in line with the mission and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.

Key responsibilities

Implement daily curriculum activities such as art, music, science, movement, story time and social skills.
Supervise teacher’s assistants, volunteers and interns as assigned.
Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment appropriate to each child’s developmental level.
Report any unusual incidents, suspected neglect or abuse to the director or head teacher.
Assist in curriculum planning, documentation, licensing paperwork and child assessment processes.

Required profile

High school diploma or GED with at least six months experience in a licensed child‑care center.
Must meet California teacher licensing requirements, hold a valid driver’s license and obtain pediatric first‑aid/CPR certification.
Ability to pass criminal background, child‑abuse index and DMV clearance.
Good health, able to lift children and supplies up to 60 lb, and comply with drug‑free workplace policies.
