Preschool Teacher Assistant (Bilingual French/English)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated bilingual Preschool Teacher Assistant to support our early childhood classroom at Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center. The role involves creating a safe, organized learning environment and assisting with instructional and administrative tasks while fostering positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the classroom each day, including materials and interest areas.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Cover classroom prep periods and lead small‑group lessons and read‑aloud activities as assigned.
• Assist the lead teacher with Positive Behavior Support, IEP implementation, and inclusion of children with disabilities.
• Support developmental screenings and quarterly assessment checkpoints.
• Observe, document, and input children’s learning and development data into student portfolios.
• Monitor children for signs of illness, injury, or special needs.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency in English and French with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus a Child Development Associate (CDA) or related certification.
• Prior experience working with preschool‑aged children; 3+ years preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and availability for extended‑hour events.
