Power Generation Project Manager

About the role

HDR is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead power generation projects across the West Region. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering solutions for industrial, institutional, municipal, independent power producer and utility clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain proactive client relationships and act as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead proposal development, review contract terms, assess risks and secure new business.
• Provide daily leadership to multi‑disciplinary project teams, ensuring schedule, quality and profitability targets are met.
• Communicate project status regularly with clients and internal stakeholders, aligning expectations and deliverables.
• Monitor budgets and schedules, create recovery plans when needed, and manage scope changes.
• Mentor and train project staff on project management and consulting practices.
• Perform design or consulting work within your engineering expertise as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing utility‑scale power generation systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with emerging trends such as distributed generation and combined heat‑and‑power technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and internal coordination.
• Ability to plan, schedule and lead complex design and consulting assignments.
